Job summary

Sardine is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to advance our cloud infrastructure and platform tooling. You will own deployment pipelines, observability, FinOps governance, and cost management in a remote-first environment.

Collaborate with security, finance, and product teams to ensure reliability and scalability while reducing cloud spend. Bring deep experience with Kubernetes, IaC, and modern observability tools.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in DevOps, SRE or software engineering in high-growth startups
• Proficient in Python or Go with strong engineering fundamentals
• Strong ownership of production infrastructure and tooling
• Experience designing secure, compliant infra for regulated environments
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and IaC tooling (ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform)
• Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices
• CI/CD pipelines and internal developer tooling
• Observability tools like Prometheus or Datadog and on-call experience

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve DevOps and platform engineering from CI/CD to monitoring
• Design and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines for rapid iterations
• Improve observability with Datadog, GCP, and custom dashboards
• Implement FinOps governance with showback/chargeback models
• Enable developer productivity via internal tooling and reusable modules
• Define and measure SLOs to standardize system health and reliability
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to optimize architectural patterns for cost
• Shape engineering culture and long-term DevOps roadmap
• Work with security, finance and other teams to align spending with business goals
