Job summary

Sardine is hiring a DevOps Engineer to advance our infrastructure and platform tooling for a fast-growing engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on deployment, observability, and cloud cost management, collaborating with security and finance to ensure reliability and cost efficiency.

You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, improve observability, and drive automation across teams, shaping the future of our DevOps practice at Sardine.

Qualifications

• This role requires 6+ years in DevOps, SRE, or software engineering in high-growth startups.
• Proficiency in Python or Go with solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Strong ownership of production infrastructure and tooling with debugging skills.
• Experience designing secure and robust infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform.
• Familiar with GCP or other clouds and cloud cost management, including cost governance.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and internal developer tooling; observability tooling (Prometheus/Datadog).

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve DevOps and platform engineering from build pipelines to monitoring and IaC.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines for rapid product iterations.
• Improve observability via Datadog, GCP, and custom dashboards with FinOps focus.
• Implement FinOps governance including showback/chargeback models across teams.
• Enable developer productivity with internal tooling and reusable modules.
• Help define and measure SLOs to standardize system health and reliability.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to define cost-effective architectures.
• Shape engineering culture and DevOps roadmap; align spend with business goals.
• Partner with security, finance, and product to align technical spending.
