Job summary

Sardine is seeking a DevOps Engineer to advance our infrastructure and platform tooling for a growing engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on deployment, observability, developer productivity, and cloud cost management.

You’ll collaborate with Security and Finance to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency, building CI/CD pipelines and shaping the FinOps approach for new services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or software engineering roles, ideally in high-growth startup environments.
• Proficiency in Python or Go, with strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Proven ownership of production infrastructure and platform tooling, with strong debugging skills.
• Experience designing secure, robust infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes and tools like ArgoCD, Helm, Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve DevOps and platform engineering from build to monitoring and cost optimization.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable CI/CD pipelines for rapid product iterations.
• Improve observability via Datadog, GCP, and custom dashboards with FinOps outcomes.
• Implement FinOps governance including showback and chargeback models to drive cost accountability across teams.
• Enable developer productivity through internal tooling and reusable modules.
• Help define and measure SLOs to set reliability standards.
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align technical spending with business goals.
• Shape DevOps culture and long-term roadmap across the organization.
