Phorest is seeking a Mid-level Software BackEnd Engineer to join the Marketing team. You will design and build a multi-tenant SAAS backend in a high-scale distributed system, using Java, JavaScript, and modern cloud tech.

You’ll ensure code quality, testability, and rapid delivery while collaborating with product, design, and other engineering teams. You will shape solutions for millions of users globally, working in a flexible environment that supports remote work and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Java back-end experience.
• Strong JavaScript knowledge and fundamentals.
• Experience building RESTful APIs; GraphQL is a bonus.
• Ability to reason about trade-offs and maintain high coding standards.

Responsibilities

• Push the boundaries of modern backend development to build fast, ambitious web applications that will delight clients.
• Collaborate closely with our product team to build features with significant business impact.
• Proactively identify bottlenecks and improve the backend developer experience.
• Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs and services.
• Coach teammates through code reviews and ensure clean, maintainable code.
