Job summary

Phorest Software is seeking a Mid-level Software BackEnd Engineer to join our Marketing team, shaping a high-scale, multi-tenant SAAS platform for salons globally. You’ll design and build features in a vibrant, growth-oriented environment, leveraging event-driven architecture and modern cloud technologies.

You’ll work closely with product and design to deliver robust backend services, RESTful APIs, and scalable systems while maintaining strong coding standards and continuously learning new

Qualifications

• Proven experience with object-oriented software design, at least 3 years, primarily in Java.
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript and modern JS.
• Experience building RESTful APIs; GraphQL is a plus.
• Ability to reason about trade-offs when choosing backend technologies.
• Ability to inspire and motivate teams to improve quality and productivity.
• Strong focus on high coding standards, attention to detail, and methodological work processes.

Responsibilities

• Push the boundaries of modern backend development to build fast, ambitious web applications that will delight clients.
• Collaborate with product to build high-impact features.
• Improve frontend developer experience and performance where possible.
• Work with design to deliver elegant UI components.
• Shape scalable, multi-tenant SAAS platforms using Docker and Serverless.
• Contribute to code reviews and mentor teammates through sessions.
• Develop automated unit and acceptance tests to ensure design criteria are met.
• Pursue new technologies and best practices to continuously improve.
