Job summary

Muiríosa Foundation in Tipperary is recruiting Social Care Workers and Support Workers to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities/autism in independent living, community inclusion and health/wellbeing. Roles are based in Moyne and Ardfinnan with day/evening/overnight shifts, including sleepovers.

Successful applicants will support residents and their wellbeing in a caring, respectful environment. We require CORU registration or progress toward registration, a Diploma in Social Care or

Qualifications

• Qualified Diploma in Social Care or similar CORU-approved, Level 7, or equivalent.
• CORU registration or in the process of registering is required.
• Experience supporting adults with intellectual disabilities or autism is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with independent living skills and community inclusion.
• Promote the personal health and wellbeing of service users.
• Work across day/evening/overnight shifts as required (sleepovers/waking nights).

Skills and attributes

• Knowledge of HIQA Standards


• Experience in Intellectual Disability and/or autism


• suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role


• A valid licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland


• Minimum basic level IT Skills


• Support workers have HSE approved QQI Level 5 qualification or be willing to complete


• Social Care Workers - CORU Registered - or in the process of registering

SOCIAL CARE WORKERS/SUPPORT WORKERS

TIPPRARY RESIDENTIAL SERVICES

We are recruiting for Social Care Workers and Support Workers to join us in our Tipperary Residential Services. We have services in Moyne and Ardfinnan, Tipperary.

The successful candidates will be provided with the opportunity to support individuals with independent living skills, community inclusion and the promotion of their personal health and wellbeing. Our wide variety of services provide full time residential support to individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities/autism in both individualized and group settings.

The shift patterns include day/evening/overnight (sleepovers and waking night duty)

Requirements

• Relevant recognised Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care/Disability/social Care Practice (Level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications) which are CORU approved. Please note Social Care candidates must be registered with or in the process of registering with CORU. Or HSE recognised Fetac/QQI Level 5 Major award or willinghness to complete.


• A valid driving licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.


• Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities/autism.


• Knowledge of HIQA Standards.


• Good connections in the local community an advantage.


• Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.


• Minimum basic level IT Skills, using email, word doc and systems.


• Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role

Payscales (HSE Consolidated scales)
