Job summary

Arcon Recruitment Services is seeking an R&D Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join a Castlebar-based team. You will drive product development from concept to production, coordinating multiple R&D projects and collaborating with design, production and engineering colleagues.

The role emphasizes advancing new technologies, continuous improvement, and KPI reporting, with a focus on cutting-edge design and manufacturability in a modern engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate multiple R&D projects from concept through to implementation.
• Attend regular project meetings and provide progress updates.
• Develop and improve engineering and R&D processes.
• Maintain and update project plans, schedules and Gantt charts.
• Carry out technical research into new technologies, products and manufacturing methods.
• Assist with the design and development of innovative engineering solutions.
• Develop, monitor and report on KPIs.
• Produce technical documentation, reports and engineering instructions.
• Collaborate with design, production and engineering teams to deliver projects on time.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and product innovation.
• Support the adoption of new technologies, automation and AI-driven engineering tools where appropriate.
