Job summary

KM Lynskey is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our Commercial Team. The role is based at our Head Office in Ballycoolin with travel to projects. You will manage the commercial requirements of projects, prepare valuations, monitor budgets and assist with forecasts.

The ideal candidate has a Degree in Quantity Surveying and 3–6 years’ experience, preferably with a main contractor, and strong numeracy, negotiation and Excel skills. This is a great opportunity to progress within KM Lynskey.

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or related discipline.
Ideally 3–6 years’ relevant Quantity Surveying experience.
Main contractor experience is preferred.
Experience across residential, commercial, fit-out and/or data centre projects would be beneficial.
Good understanding of construction costs, valuations, variations, procurement and subcontractor accounts.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day commercial requirements of assigned projects and work packages.
Prepare and submit monthly valuations and applications for payment.
Monitor expenditure against budgets and assist in cost reports and forecasts.
Maintain records of project costs, commitments and anticipated final costs.
Assist with cash-flow forecasting and cost-to-complete reporting.
Review drawings, contracts and other project documentation for commercial requirements.
Prepare tender and procurement packages for subcontractors and suppliers.
Manage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments and variations.
Identify and submit project variations and change orders.
Attend site and project meetings as required.
