Job summary

KCM Recruitment Ltd. on behalf of our client is seeking a hands-on Quantity Surveyor for an industrial project in Athy. You will report to the Commercial Manager, manage cost monitoring, procurement, and contract correspondence to keep projects on time and within budget.

Approximate 5 years’ experience and a degree in Quantity Surveying are required; attractive package including salary, car allowances, pension, private health care and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Approx. 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying.
• Experience with a main contractor or sub-contractor in the UK or Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Cost monitoring and reporting using Construction Computer Software.
• Procuring, Reviewing and approving selected contractors / suppliers.
• Ensure Contractual correspondence in accordance with contract terms.
• Continuously monitor the project to ensure that it stays on time and in budget.
• Taking off quantities from drawings for insertion into estimate cost templates.
• Preparation of enquiry documentation utilising standard pro-forma to establish competitive packages.
• Analysis of subcontract quotations to enable normalisation and comparison to use most competitive return within our submissions to clients.

Our Client

Technology and Food companies. Which they construct turnkey from “first sod” to commissioning and handover. Projects would range from €50 million to €250 million.

They are seeking a seeking a Quantity Surveyor to report directly to a commercial Manager for ongoing long terms works on an Industrial Project in Athy.

The role would suit a hands-on Quantity Surveyor and would offer considerable potential for the right candidate.

THE ROLE:

Duties

• Cost monitoring and reporting using Construction Computer Software;
• Procuring, Reviewing and approving selected contractors /suppliers
• Ensure Contractual correspondence in accordance with contract terms.
• Continuously monitor the project to ensure that it stays on time and in budget

Requirements

Approx. 5 years’ experience with third level qualification in Quantity Surveying

Experience with a main contractor or sub-contractor in the UK or Ireland
