Job summary

Global Professional Consultants is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on projects across North and West Dublin with head office in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath.

The role covers pre-construction through final account, working with the Project Manager, Site Management and wider commercial team. The ideal candidate holds a Quantity Surveying degree and has 3+ years in a QS role, ideally with a main building contractor and experience on commercial construction projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
• Previous experience with a main building contractor desirable.
• Experience on commercial construction projects.
• Strong understanding of contracts and commercial processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects.
• Prepare and review tender documentation, bills of quantities and cost estimates.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiations.
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance.
• Prepare and agree variations, claims and extensions of time where required.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts.
• Assist with monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
• Monitor project progress against budgets and identify risks.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist with contract administration and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Prepare and maintain accurate commercial documentation.
• Support the Senior QS / Commercial Manager with reporting and commercial strategy.

A leading main building contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, with the head office based in Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath, and projects located across North and West Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to join an established contractor working on a range of high-quality commercial and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Management and wider commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of assigned projects
• Prepare and review tender documentation, bills of quantities and cost estimates
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering and negotiations
• Prepare and submit interim valuations and payment applications
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance
• Prepare and agree variations, claims and extensions of time where required
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and final accounts
• Assist with monthly cost reporting and forecasting
• Monitor project progress against budgets and identify potential commercial risks
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Assist with contract administration and ensure contractual obligations are met
• Prepare and maintain accurate commercial documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Support the Senior QS / Commercial Manager with reporting and commercial strategy

Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role
• Previous experience with a main building contractor highly desirable
• Experience working on commercial construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement
• Strong cost control, reporting and forecasting skills
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Full driving licence required
