Job summary

FRS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing construction contractor with projects across Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow. You will take commercial ownership of varied projects and work with Contracts Managers and site teams to deliver value.

The role involves managing procurement, cost reporting and risk, with opportunities across refurbishments, residential builds and heritage works. Hybrid work options may be available.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Approximately 8 years' experience preferred, flexible for the right candidate.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Proven experience in cost planning, procurement and risk management.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of allocated projects from tender to final account.
• Work closely with Site Managers and the Contracts Manager.
• Lead subcontractor and specialist package procurement from tender through to final account.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance.
• Prepare regular commercial and cost reports.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and report to the team.

Quantity Surveyor Location: Dublin / Kildare / Wicklow Office: Wexford Job Type: Full-time The Company An established and growing construction contractor is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The company works across a diverse range of construction projects, including commercial, residential, refurbishment and heritage projects. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take full commercial ownership of projects, working closely with the Contracts Manager, Site Managers and wider commercial team.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who is looking for responsibility, autonomy and involvement across a varied project portfolio.

• Car showrooms and workshops
• Commercial and office refurbishments
• Private residential new builds
• Apartment developments
• Heritage refurbishment projects

Key Responsibilities

• Take commercial ownership of allocated projects
• Work closely with Site Managers and the Contracts Manager
• Lead subcontractor and specialist package procurement from tender through to final account
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance
• Prepare regular commercial and cost reports
• Identify and manage commercial risks
• Attend site meetings and carry out measurement and recording of works
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
• Liaise professionally with Design Teams, Contract Teams and other project stakeholders

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Approximately 8 year's industry experience preferred, although this is flexible for the right candidate
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience dealing with subcontractors and suppliers
• Proven experience in cost planning, procurement and risk management
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

Location & Flexibility

The company's main areas of operation are Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow. There is flexibility around the candidate's location for the right person, including the possibility of working from a satellite office, with part-time travel to the company's main office in Wexford.
