Quantity Surveyor – Civil / Construction Engineering – Multiple positions available in Ireland

We are looking for a Construction Engineer to join our team in Ireland and support the delivery of residential and commercial building projects. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys combining technical site engineering with practical commercial and quantity surveying tasks. You will work closely with site managers, design teams, QS/commercial teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
What You’ll Do
Quantity Surveying & Commercial Support
- Assist the QS team in monitoring project costs, labour allocation, and material usage.
- Take site measurements and verify subcontractor claims or variations.
- Support preparation of weekly/monthly cost reports and progress valuations.
- Review drawings and specifications to spot potential cost risks or value-engineering opportunities.
- Help with procurement tasks such as material take-offs and subcontractor comparisons.
- Maintain accurate records for change control and commercial audits.
- Set out, level, and survey construction works according to design drawings.
- Support the Site Manager and Project Manager with daily site coordination.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and contribute to technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Irish Building Regulations, design standards, and company procedures.
Quality Control & Documentation
- Keep accurate as-built records, test reports, checklists, and daily logs.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with project quality plans and ITPs.
- Prepare method statements, technical queries, and support BCAR documentation.
Health & Safety
- Promote a culture of safety on site.
- Ensure subcontractors follow project-specific RAMS and safe working practices.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with designers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical queries.
- Coordinate deliveries, material approvals, and installation schedules.
- Support integration between site teams, engineering office, and commercial teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Civil, Construction, or Structural Engineering (or related field).
- 2–5+ years’ experience in residential or commercial construction.
- Understanding of construction methods, specifications, and Irish Building Regulations.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MS Office, and basic surveying equipment.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across site, engineering, and commercial teams.
- Professional English – essential for communication on-site and with teams abroad.
- Experience supporting QS/commercial tasks in a contracting environment.
- Familiarity with BCAR, temporary works, or reinforced concrete structures.
- Experience with digital tools: BIM, drones, Power BI, surveying software.
- Safe Pass and Manual Handling (or ability to obtain upon arrival).
