Job summary

O’Neill and Brennan is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a North Dublin civils project. You will oversee commercial management, prepare cost estimates, manage procurement and sub-contractor accounts, and monitor cash flow.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying with 3+ years in construction, main contracting experience, and proficiency in Excel and Cubit. This full-time role requires site visits and close collaboration with the Project Manager.

Qualifications

  • Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • 3+ years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry.
  • Experience on civils projects is essential.
  • Main contracting experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Cubit.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial management and cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts for the project.
  • Manage the tendering and procurement process, including preparing bills of quantities and contract documentation.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, payments and final accounts.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Administer contract terms and conditions, including the management of variations, claims and commercial risks.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure works remain commercially on track.
  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, valuations, cost reports and updates to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and site team to identify and manage commercial opportunities and risks.
  • Assist with procurement, subcontractor management and cost control from project commencement through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure contractual and company procedures are followed.

An established Irish main contractor with a strong track record of delivering projects across Ireland is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team in North Dublin. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management and successful delivery of a new civils project.

Job Summary

  • Proficiency in relevant software, including Excel and Quantity Surveying/estimating packages such as Cubit.
  • Strong understanding of working on live construction sites and collaborating with project teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organiserial skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively, meet deadlines and work towards challenging project goals.
