Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure records are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
• Calculate and post depreciation in line with accounting policies.
• Monitor fixed asset additions, disposals and transfers.
• Ensure assets are recorded and depreciated over their useful lives.
• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end processes.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and management information.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies where required.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing.
• Work with internal teams to obtain and verify financial information.
• Provide general accounting support across the finance function.

Our client is one of Ireland's leading vehicle and machinery hire and sales companies. They have been in operation for over 50 years and operate across Ireland and the UK.

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, organised and IT-savvy accountant who can quickly settle into a busy environment and provide hands‑on support across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting activities and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

Requirements

This role is based in Naas, Co. Kildare, with flexibility around working 3-5 days per week. The client is open to discussing either a salary arrangement or daily rate, depending on the candidate's preference and experience.
