Job summary

Harper Finley Professional Recruitment is seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant for a 6-month contract in Naas, Co. Kildare. The role covers hands-on support across the finance function in a busy environment, with flexibility around 3-5 days per week.

Key responsibilities include managing day-to-day accounting, maintaining the fixed asset register, depreciation, month-end tasks and financial reporting. ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent required, with IT-savvy and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in a commercial/industry accounting environment.
• Strong fixed assets and depreciation knowledge.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• IT-savvy with strong Excel ability.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure records are accurate and up to date.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
• Calculate and post depreciation in line with accounting policies.
• Monitor fixed asset additions, disposals and transfers.
• Ensure assets are recorded and depreciated over their useful lives.
• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end processes.
• Support the preparation of financial reports and management information.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies where required.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely processing.
• Work with internal teams to obtain and verify financial information.
• Provide general accounting support across the finance function.
