Qualifications

Qualified Accountant - 6-Month Contract

Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

Contract: 6 Months

Our client is one of Ireland's leading vehicle and machinery hire and sales companies. They have been in operation for over 50 years and operate across Ireland and the UK.

They are seeking an experienced Qualified Accountant to join their finance team on a 6-month contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, organised and IT-savvy accountant who can quickly settle into a busy environment and provide hands‑on support across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.


• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.


• Calculate and post depreciation in line with accounting policies.


• Monitor fixed asset additions, disposals and transfers.


• Ensure assets are correctly recorded and depreciated over their useful lives.


• Prepare account reconciliations and assist with month-end processes.


• Support the preparation of financial reports and management information.


• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies where required.


• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure information is processed in a timely manner.


• Work closely with internal teams to obtain and verify financial information.


• Provide general accounting support across the finance function as required.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).


• Previous experience in a commercial or industry accounting environment.


• Strong understanding of fixed assets and depreciation.


• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.


• IT-savvy, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate financial systems.


• Strong Excel and general IT skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.


• Practical, hands‑on approach with the ability to adapt quickly to a new environment.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This role is based in Naas, Co. Kildare, with flexibility around working 3-5 days per week. The client is open to discussing either a salary arrangement or daily rate, depending on the candidate's preference and experience.
