Job summary

HRM Search Partners is seeking a Purchasing Manager for their Dublin HQ, responsible for leading the Purchasing Team, stock planning, supplier management, and continuous improvement of purchasing policies and controls.

You will drive stock forecasting, manage supplier deliveries, and coordinate with commercial, warehouse and logistics teams to optimise product availability and stock turns.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years in purchasing, procurement, supply chain or inventory management.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Strong supplier relationship and negotiation capability.
• Stock management, forecasting and inventory controls knowledge.
• ERP systems experience, ideally SAP.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative style with cross-functional effectiveness.
• Proactive, detail-focused with a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Purchasing Team and take responsibility for stock planning and supplier management.
• Develop and implement purchasing policies, controls and processes.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and manage stock levels and forecasting.
• Improve stock turn and reduce aged inventory.
• Enhance purchasing controls, procedures and reporting.
• Drive SAP usage and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate with commercial, warehouse and logistics teams.

A well-established and growing supplier to the Irish construction sector, with a strong market position across building products, hardware, builders' merchants and roofing.

The business represents a portfolio of leading international manufacturers and is recognised for the quality of its products, technical expertise and customer service.

The Purchasing Manager position will be based from their Dublin HQ.

The Role

The Purchasing Manager will lead the Purchasing Team and take overall responsibility for stock planning, supplier management and the continued development of purchasing policies, controls and processes.

Key priorities will include:

• Leading, developing and motivating the Purchasing Team.
• Maintaining strong relationships with existing suppliers.
• Managing stock levels, forecasting requirements and resolving discrepancies.
• Improving stock turn and reducing aged inventory.
• Strengthening purchasing controls, procedures and reporting.
• Driving effective use and continuous improvement of SAP.
• Coordinating with commercial, warehouse and logistics teams.
• Managing supplier deliveries, transport arrangements and product availability.
• Identifying and delivering continuous improvement initiatives.

The Person

• Approximately eight or more years' experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain or inventory management.
• Previous experience leading and developing a team.
• Strong supplier relationship and negotiation capability.
• A practical understanding of stock management, forecasting and inventory controls.
• Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• A collaborative style and the ability to work effectively across multiple business functions.
• A proactive, detail-focused approach with a clear commitment to continuous improvement.
