Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is recruiting a Project Manager (Renewable Energy) based in Waterford, Ireland. You will lead safe, on-time delivery of large-scale renewable energy construction projects across Ireland, coordinating design, procurement and commissioning teams while managing budgets and stakeholder relationships.

You will report to senior management and work in an international, multidisciplinary environment with ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering construction projects, preferably renewable energy or infrastructure.
• Strong ability to plan, schedule and control project budgets.
• Experience coordinating design, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Excellent communication with clients, contractors and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contractors across design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Oversee projects from pre-construction to commissioning and handover.
• Act as main point of contact for clients and stakeholders and provide progress updates.
• Monitor health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements on site.
• Lead on-site teams and subcontractors and mentor team members.
• Identify risks, mitigate issues and manage costs and vendor contracts.
• Contribute to lessons learned and share best practices across the organisation.

About Your New Job

As Project Manager, you will lead the safe and successful delivery of renewable energy construction projects in Waterford and across Ireland. You will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and managing detailed project plans, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinating design, procurement, construction and commissioning teams.
• Overseeing projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover.
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients, contractors and stakeholders.
• Providing regular project updates and resolving issues promptly.
• Leading on-site construction teams and subcontractors.
• Managing and mentoring team members, including setting KPIs and supporting performance discussions.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Conducting site inspections and audits.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Managing costs, forecasting expenditure and overseeing vendor contracts.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
• Contributing to Lessons Learned sessions and sharing best practice across the organisation.

You must be based in Ireland to carry out the responsibilities of this role.

What Skills You Need

• Proven experience managing construction projects, ideally within renewable energy, infrastructure, engineering or a related sector.
• Strong project planning, budgeting, scheduling and cost-control skills.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors and subcontractors.
• Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills.
• A strong understanding of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Effective risk-management, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• The leadership skills required to motivate teams and manage performance.
