Project Manager – Installation Team

Location: Ballina, Co. Mayo

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Arcon Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage an installation team for a growing construction and engineering business headquartered in Ballina, Co. Mayo.

The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial costing and planning through procurement, installation and final completion. This position requires a strong Project Manager with experience in construction, engineering or a related installation environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage construction and engineering installation projects from planning through to completion.
• Lead, coordinate and support site-based installation teams.
• Prepare project programmes, schedules and installation plans.
• Allocate labour, materials, equipment and project resources.
• Prepare project costings, budgets and commercial proposals.
• Review drawings, specifications and client requirements.
• Procure materials, equipment and subcontracted services.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery dates and commercial terms.
• Monitor project expenditure and ensure projects remain within budget.
• Coordinate deliveries to meet project and installation schedules.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal departments.
• Conduct site visits and monitor installation progress and quality.
• Lead project, site and installation meetings.
• Identify and address project risks, delays and cost issues.
• Resolve technical, logistical and operational challenges.
• Manage variations and additional works.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate project records, reports and documentation.
• Manage snagging, client handover and final project completion.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous Project Manager experience within construction, engineering or a related installation sector.
• Proven ability to lead installation and site-based teams.
• Strong project costing, budgeting and commercial experience.
• Experience managing procurement, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Good technical understanding of construction or engineering projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong planning, scheduling and resource-management abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage several projects and competing deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project-management software.
• Knowledge of Irish construction health and safety requirements.
• Full Irish driving licence and availability to travel to project sites.
