Job summary

Elis is recruiting a Shift Leader for the evening shift at the Pottery Road site in Ireland. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will lead a high-performing team, drive safety, meet production targets, and ensure quality and efficiency across shifts.

You will monitor plans, coach staff, and collaborate with other departments to align activities with customer requirements and company objectives. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential.

• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching, and mentoring; drive engagement and motivation.
• Identify high performers for succession planning.
• Report hourly, daily, and weekly performance updates to the Production Manager.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation and participate in shift handovers.

The Role

We are recruiting a Shift Leader for the evening shift at the Pottery Road site. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Leader is responsible for leading a high‑performing production team that consistently achieves functional objectives aligned with the site’s business plan. This role emphasises strong adherence to health & safety policies, meeting production targets and industrial performance KPIs, staff training and development, and maintaining a clean and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with company health & safety policies and all relevant legislation.
• Conduct regular safety observations to maintain a safe working environment.

Operational Performance

• Achieve and exceed production targets and other industrial performance KPIs such as KG/hour, throughput, and on-time delivery.
• Monitor production plans, adhere to configurations, and report progress and deviations to management timely.

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide clear direction, supervision, and support to the production team to achieve operational excellence.
• Develop team capabilities through training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Drive engagement and motivation, fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Identify high performers for succession planning.

Quality and Customer Focus

• Ensure full compliance with RABC EN14065 Standards and protocols.
• Ensure all products meet customer expectations and are delivered efficiently on time, and in full.
• Empower team members to take ownership of quality standards and ensure corrective actions are promptly taken.
• Collaborate with other departments to align production activities with customer requirements and company objectives.

Workplace Cleanliness and Organisation

• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe production area.
• Ensure the team participates in housekeeping routines to sustain a high‑standard working environment.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and operational efficiencies.

Reporting and Communication

• Provide hourly, daily, and weekly performance updates to the Production Manager.
