Job summary

Teleflex is seeking a proactive Team Lead for our production environment in Ireland. You will coordinate and drive performance of production lines, support continuous improvement initiatives, and lead a focused shift with hands-on manufacturing responsibilities.

You will train staff, manage attendance, and ensure GMP and quality standards are upheld. The role requires strong leadership, excellent organisation, and a track record of delivering efficient, safe operations in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate production activities and drive team performance across output, efficiency, yield, quality, safety, service and cost targets.
  • Lead and develop the team, organise work areas and allocate daily duties to meet operational targets.
  • Support and maintain Visual Factory systems within the production area.
  • Train and onboard new team members and identify ongoing training needs.
  • Manage attendance, holidays, performance and scheduling; monitor downtime and respond quickly to production issues.
  • Assist daily production planning and communicate shipping updates and timelines.
  • Maintain GMP, quality standards, SOPs and company procedures; support investigations and problem-solving.
  • Assist with new product introductions and process changes, including target setting and workflow planning.

Job description

Purpose of the role: A proactive Team Lead responsible for coordinating and driving the performance of production lines/manufacturing cells while supporting and developing team members. The role may operate as part of a rotating leadership team and includes responsibility for stock control, production planning, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will be highly responsive, organised, and focused on maximising operational performance, efficiency, and team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support production activities as required, including hands-on manufacturing work (approximately 50% of the role)
  • Take ownership of team performance across output, efficiency, yield, quality, safety, service, and cost targets
  • Support and maintain Visual Factory systems within the production area
  • Train and onboard new team members while identifying ongoing training and development needs
  • Ensure all training records and competency requirements are maintained and up to date
  • Manage day-to-day team activities including attendance, holidays, performance, and scheduling
  • Respond quickly to downtime and production issues to minimise disruption and maximise efficiency
  • Monitor raw material availability and quality to support uninterrupted production
  • Assist with daily production planning and communicate shipping updates and delivery timelines
  • Organise work areas and coordinate tasks effectively across the team
  • Take responsibility during emergency situations when required
  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement (CIP) initiatives within the area
  • Complete daily administration tasks including labour tracking, material postings, and stock checks
  • Promote compliance with GMP, quality standards, SOPs, and company procedures
  • Support root cause investigations and problem-solving activities
  • Assist with the introduction of new products and processes, including target setting and workflow planning
  • Allocate daily duties and responsibilities across the team to support operational targets
  • Provide day-to-day support and guidance to operators, technicians, and engineers
  • Ensure all production documentation and product records are completed accurately
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, SOPs, productivity, and efficiency
  • Support the maintenance of Health & Safety, GMP, Quality, and EHS standards at all times
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational requirements
  • Drive achievement of daily production and performance targets
  • Manage stock control activities to improve inventory accuracy and reduce variances
  • Adjust resources and priorities to address operational variances where needed
  • Carry out basic troubleshooting and support resolution of common production issues
  • Support basic equipment changeovers within the production cell
  • Work closely with the supervisor on day-to-day production scheduling and planning
  • Escalate any issues that may impact delivery timelines in a timely manner
