Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is assisting a well established manufacturing client in Waterford City to recruit a Production Manager. You will oversee daily operations, ensure schedules are met safely, efficiently and to quality standards, and lead the production team on the bottling lines.

The role requires at least three years in production or manufacturing management, with strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills. Experience in FMCG/food/beverage is desirable.

Our client is a well established progressive manufacturing company based in Waterford City. We are now seeking to recruit for the key position of Production Manager to manage and co-ordinate production activities across the site - reporting to the General Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and energetic company operating as part of a larger group in Ireland within the progressive FMCG sector.

YOUR NEW ROLE

The Production Manager will oversee the day to day operations, ensuring production schedules are achieved safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. The role will involve leading the production team, managing performance and ensuring the smooth running of the bottling lines.

The successful candidate will have at least three years’ experience in a similar production or manufacturing management role, ideally within an FMCG, food, beverage or manufacturing environment. Strong leadership, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a practical, hands-on approach.

• Manage the day to day bottling operation, ensuring production schedules and customer requirements are achieved.
• Lead, motivate and support the production team, ensuring daily priorities and targets are clearly communicated.
• Plan and allocate production resources, including people, materials and equipment.
• Monitor production performance, downtime, waste and efficiency, taking corrective action where required.
• Coordinate production changeovers and line setups to minimise downtime.
• Work closely with Planning, Logistics, Quality, Procurement and Engineering to ensure production requirements are met.
• Ensure production records and system information are completed accurately.
• Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, housekeeping and health and safety across the production area.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste and increase production performance.
• Support the training and development of production employees.
• Monitor and report on production KPIs and provide regular updates to the General Manager.

What are we looking for:

• Third level qualification in an engineering / production or operations disciplilne.
• At least five years’ experience in a production, manufacturing or operations management role.
• Experience within an FMCG, food, beverage or manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Previous experience managing and developing production teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, planning and problem-solving skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Good understanding of production planning, bottling processes and line efficiency.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with production management or ERP systems is desirable.
• A strong understanding of health and safety, HACCP and food-safety requirements.

Candidates must be resident in Ireland.
