Sigmar Recruitment is partnering with an established and growing Irish organisation to recruit an experienced Production Manager for its manufacturing facility in Co. Meath.
This is a senior operational leadership position with responsibility for the day-to-day performance of a busy production facility and a team of approximately 50 employees.
The successful candidate will take ownership of production performance, people leadership, planning and continuous improvement, with a strong focus on LEAN manufacturing, productivity, quality and operational efficiency.
The Role:
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the production facility
- Manage, lead and develop a production team of approximately 50 employees
- Develop and manage production schedules to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved
- Monitor workflows, labour and resource allocation to maximise productivity and output
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement practical solutions
- Champion LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Drive improvements across waste reduction, efficiency, cost and production performance
- Monitor production KPIs and provide regular performance reporting to senior management
- Work closely with Quality, Health & Safety, Design and Commercial teams
- Ensure production meets required quality, safety and regulatory standards
- Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Recruit, train, mentor and develop production employees
- Build a positive, accountable and high-performing production culture
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or similar
- Strong experience managing a sizeable production or manufacturing workforce
- Strong knowledge of LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Demonstrated experience improving productivity, workflows and operational performance
- Strong production planning and resource management experience
- Excellent people leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop teams
- Strong understanding of quality, health & safety and compliance within a manufacturing environment
- Commercially aware with experience monitoring production costs and performance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use KPIs and production data to drive improvements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
- Relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Business or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent industry experience will be considered
