Job Overview
The role will support customers, electrical contractors, wholesalers, consultants, and internal teams by providing practical advice on product selection, application, operation, installation, and technical issues. It is predominantly an on-site position and will also involve product demonstrations and sharing product knowledge with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, contractors, wholesalers, consultants, and internal teams.
- Handle technical enquiries by phone and email, identifying customer requirements and providing appropriate product solutions.
- Assist with electrical product selection, specifications, application, operation, and installation-related queries.
- Investigate product issues and provide clear guidance on troubleshooting and appropriate next steps.
- Provide technical support to the Sales team on customer requirements and product solutions.
- Prepare product specifications and technical documentation where required.
- Demonstrate products to customers, contractors, and colleagues when appropriate.
- Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the company’s product portfolio and relevant applications.
- Share product knowledge and technical information with internal employees to improve product understanding across the business.
- Contribute to product guides, presentations, FAQs, and other internal knowledge resources.
- Work with Product Development and Quality Control on product feedback, technical issues, product evaluations, and Goods for Return (GFR) assessments.
- Provide technical input into new product introductions and product improvements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Assist with product-related administration and other duties as required.
Skills & Experience
- Excellent knowledge of electrical products and their applications.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and helpful approach.
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to understand and respond to customer requirements.
- Comfortable working predominantly on-site and as part of a collaborative team.
- Electrical qualification or relevant experience within the electrical products industry.
- Experience working with electrical contractors, wholesalers, distributors, or similar customers.
- Knowledge of heating, ventilation, or mechanical products and systems.
- Previous experience in technical customer support, product support, or technical sales support.
- Experience using ERP or product management systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar CAD software would be beneficial, but is not essential.
- Experience creating product information or demonstrating products to customers or colleagues.
- Experience sharing technical or product knowledge with internal teams.
