The role requires the ability to gather, analyse and interpret process data directly from SCADA, historian, and production systems

What You´ll Do

  • Facilitate and coordinate process hazard and risk assessments, including HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, ATEX, and other recognised methodologies, to identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Act as the site subject matter expert for process safety, providing guidance to operations, engineering, maintenance, and project teams on risk management and safety performance.
  • Lead process safety incident investigations, identifying root causes, lessons learned, and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement and prevent recurrence.
  • Manage and maintain critical process safety documentation, including the Basis of Safety (BoS), risk assessments, operating procedures, and compliance records.
  • Monitor and report process safety performance through KPI analysis, audits, inspections, and assurance activities, ensuring effective implementation of safety controls and safeguards.
  • Support capital projects, management of change (MoC), Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs), and operational readiness activities to ensure safe design and implementation of new or modified processes.
  • Develop strong partnerships across manufacturing teams, maintaining a visible presence on site to promote a proactive safety culture, embed best practices, and enhance emergency preparedness and response.
What Makes You a Good Fit

  • Proven experience within a chemical manufacturing or high-hazard industrial environment, with a strong understanding of process safety principles and operational risk management.
  • Professional certifications such as Chartered Engineer, Certified Functional Safety Engineer, or NEBOSH Process Safety Management are advantageous.
  • Strong technical expertise across multiple process safety disciplines, including process hazard analysis, risk assessment, loss prevention, incident investigation, process safety auditing, and engineering design.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant process safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards, with the ability to apply these in a practical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading or participating in risk assessments, safety studies, audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data, identify trends, and make risk-based recommendations.
