Job summary

Henkel in Ireland seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead engineering projects across the region, ensuring safety standards and business goals are met in an ATEX-regulated environment. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams from conception to commissioning and sustaining operations.

The role requires a degree in Chemistry, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and 3–5 years in chemical or food and beverage settings, with hands-on experience in scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in chemical, food and beverages industrial sectors.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background.
• Experience with scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, and scope development as a Project Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Develop and handover of systems from conception to commissioning and sustaining operations.
• Prepare URS and scoping information for key discipline projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional SMEs and engineering design consultants in design phase, design risk and HAZOP assessments.
• Prepare and manage project schedules and CAPEX budgets.
• Coordinate and direct contractors during implementation.
• Manage construction phase safely and commissioning, ramp up and hand-over to operations.

About this Position

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll play a key part in delivering engineering projects across the region, ensuring they are aligned with safety standards and business goals. What you´ll do

• Working as part of the engineering team to ensure the smooth development & handover of systems from conception to commissioning and into sustaining operations.


• Preparing URS, scoping information for key discipline projects.


• Coordination of cross functional SME’s and engineering design consultants in project design phase, design risk and HAZOP assessments.


• Preparing and managing project schedules, CAPEX budgets.


• Project coordination, interfacing, and directing contractors during implementation


• Project management, safely managing and directing contractors during construction phase.


• Commissioning, ramp up and hand-over to operations.

What makes you a good fit

• A degree in Chemistry, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering


• 3–5 years of experience in within the chemical, food and beverages industrial sectors


• Strong mechanical and electrical background.


• Handled scheduling, budgeting, risk mitigation, and scope development as a Project Engineer.


• P&ID development activities, HAZOP/SIL reviews and supporting cost estimate activities.


• Control of contractors during installation.
