Job summary

Henkel Ireland is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to develop and maintain a deep understanding of manufacturing processes through direct operations engagement and data-driven analysis of SCADA and historian systems. You will lead PSM programs, coordinate hazard analyses, and act as the site safety SME to drive continuous improvement.

The role involves investigations, documentation management, KPI reporting, and support for capital projects and MoC.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science or Engineering with emphasis on chemical, mechanical or process safety.
• Proven experience in chemical manufacturing or high-hazard industrial environments.
• Professional certifications such as Chartered Engineer, Certified Functional Safety Engineer, or NEBOSH Process Safety Management are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the site's Process Safety Management program in line with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate process hazard and risk assessments (HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA, ATEX) to identify and mitigate risks.
• Act as site subject matter expert on process safety, guiding operations, engineering and maintenance teams.
• Lead process safety incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Manage critical process safety documentation (BoS, risk assessments, procedures).
• Monitor process safety performance via KPI analysis, audits and inspections.
• Support capital projects, MoC, PSSRs and readiness activities for safe design and implementation of changes.
• Develop partnerships across manufacturing teams to promote a proactive safety culture and emergency preparedness.
