Job summary

Howden Ireland is seeking a Commercial Connected Account Executive to manage a Personal Lines portfolio in our nationwide offices. You will focus on renewals, client retention and cross-selling, while collaborating with the Commercial Handler to deliver a seamless client journey.

The role requires strong relationship management, negotiation and sales skills, with deep Personal Lines knowledge. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in insurance and an APA Personal Lines qualification, with CPD evidence.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years in an insurance role managing a portfolio of clients.
• Minimum APA Personal Lines qualification or Grandfathered status with CPD.
• Excellent technical product knowledge of Personal Lines.
• Proven experience managing policy renewals, client enquiries, and retention.
• Strong relationship-building skills with Commercial Handlers and internal teams.
• Confident communicator who can explain cover and recommendations clearly.
• Proficient in negotiating terms to benefit client and company.
• Commercially aware with cross-selling opportunities.
• Highly organized with renewal deadlines and follow-up actions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop the Commercial Connected Personal Lines book of business with professional service.
• Build rapport with the Commercial Handler and maintain clear communication on client needs.
• Act as the primary Personal Lines contact for Commercial Connected clients and collaborate with the team.
• Maintain relationships with existing clients to foster long-term loyalty.
• Oversee renewal processes including cover review, terms, options and timely completion.
• Evaluate risk profiles and advise on suitable products and coverage.
• Identify cross-selling, referrals and new business opportunities.
• Respond to client and internal queries promptly and resolve issues.
• Achieve agreed new business, renewal, retention and income targets.
• Maintain accurate client and policy records in systems.
• Follow Company procedures for New Business Development and Renewals.
• Stay up to date with market practice and product availability.
• Collaborate with other teams for training, product development and efficiencies.
• Attend client visits with Management or colleagues as required.
• Adhere to compliance as outlined in Handbook and Procedures Manual.
