Job summary

St. Michael’s House in Dublin is seeking a Grade V Payroll Officer to join the Payroll/Salaries Department.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for employees across the organisation, acting as a key link with HR, Pensions, and Finance. The role requires knowledge of payroll systems, current legislation, and strong numerical, analytical, and confidentiality skills, with a focus on improving processes and delivering a high-quality payroll

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Payroll Officer.
• Experience handling payrolls of 1,800+ employees.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis.
• IPASS Payroll Techniques CPT qualification.
• Strong teamwork abilities and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Payroll administration and processing.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation.
• Costing and financial reporting.
• Systems development and process improvement.
• Liaison with HR, Pensions, and Finance.
• Year-end and other reporting requirements.
• General payroll responsibilities.
