Job summary

St Vincent’s University Hospital seeks a Grade V Officer- Payroll to join the Finance Department. You will oversee payroll processes for a large organisation, ensuring accurate payments and supporting year-end activities.

The role requires knowledge of integrated payroll systems, up-to-date tax legislation, and strong collaboration with HR and Pensions. You will supervise staff and help deliver a reliable payroll service for hospital employees.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of an integrated payroll system in a large organisation.
• Familiar with current tax legislation.
• Supervision of staff in the Salaries Department.

Responsibilities

• Liaising with HR regarding new employees, resignations, promotions, leave, pay claims and other agreements.
• Deputising for the deputy payroll manager where necessary.
• Costing of pay claims and compliance with HSE requirements.
• Monitor the costing of staff payments and ensure accurate coding of pay information to the general ledger.
• Assist with the overall year-end process.
• Update systems to improve service delivery.
• Prepare and present payroll Corporate Staff Induction.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes affecting payroll.
• Review systems and procedures and implement enhancements.
• Maintain liaison between HR, Pensions and Payroll and hospital employees.
