Job summary

Morgan McKinley is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function across Irish and UK units. You will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, partner with HR and Finance, and guide reward, compensation and benefits programs.

You will manage a team of 5 Payroll Analysts and 1 Project Manager, contribute to monthly financial reporting, and ensure compliance with evolving payroll regulations and pensions. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Payroll Manager in a large, multi-site business.
• Experience with Irish and UK payroll systems and employment law.
• IPASS or equivalent professional qualification is required.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with HR reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll function and team. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, partner with HR and Finance teams, manage monthly financial reporting, and provide expert guidance on reward, compensation, and benefits programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Operations: Oversee accurate payroll processing for Irish and UK business units and manage external partner relationships.
• Team Leadership: Manage, support, and direct a team of 5 Payroll Analysts and 1 Project Manager.
• Reward & Benefits Management: Design and support variable pay and annual incentive plans, keeping up to date with market practices, regulations, and pensions.
• Financial Reporting & Audit: Handle monthly compensation accruals, prepayments, and postings. Partner with Finance on monthly statements and annual audit prep.
• Stakeholder Support & Policy: Advise management on reward/benefit matters, maintain supporting policies, and lead cross-departmental projects.

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record as a Payroll Manager, ideally within a large, complex, multi-site business.
• Hands-on experience with both Irish and UK payroll systems and employment law regarding reward/pensions.
• IPASS or equivalent professional qualification.
• Advanced Excel skills, experience with HR reporting systems, and familiarity with Time & Attendance software.
• Strong project and relationship management skills, analytical ability, and excellent communication across all organizational levels.
