Job summary

MOTOR DISTRIBUTORS LTD is seeking a Parts Advisor to accurately identify, source and supply commercial vehicle parts using electronic catalogs and DMS. You will pre-pick parts for scheduled workshop jobs and CVRT repairs to minimize downtime.

The role requires experience with Dealer Management Systems, knowledge of heavy vehicle components, and a clean Irish driving licence. You will handle customer inquiries and maintain stock with 5S standards in a modern workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Parts Advisor in a commercial vehicle dealership, motor factor, or automotive/heavy machinery environment.
• Experience using Dealer Management Systems (e.g., Assetminder, Keyloop, CDK, Autoview) and electronic parts catalogues is a strong advantage.
• Solid practical knowledge of heavy commercial vehicle (HGV/LCV), bus, or trailer components.
• Highly organized, proactive, strong communication skills, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Full, clean Irish driving licence.

Job description

• Parts Identification & Sourcing: Accurately identify, source, and supply commercial vehicle parts using electronic parts catalogues and Dealer Management Systems (DMS).
• Workshop Support: Pre-pick parts for scheduled workshop jobs and CVRT repairs to minimize technician downtime.
• Customer & Trade Service: Handle customer and trade enquiries via counter, phone, and email, providing pricing, availability, and technical advice.
• Stock & Inventory Management: Receipt in incoming deliveries, verify stock accuracy against delivery notes, manage bin locations, and participate in regular cycle counts.
• Returns & Warranty: Process parts returns, old core units (surcharges), and warranty claims in line with manufacturer procedures.
• Lean & 5S: Maintain a clean, organized, and logically laid out parts department adhering to 5S visual standards.
