Job summary

Dains Ireland is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead our outsourced accounting team, supporting a portfolio of SME clients and helping them achieve business goals. The role demands strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation skills within a small to mid-sized practice.

You will oversee the outsourcing team, manage client relationships, and drive accurate, timely financial reporting. A background in Xero or similar software and pursuing an accounting qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in a small-medium sized accounting firm in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with bookkeeping and accounts preparation.
• Proficient in Xero, BrightBooks and other accounting software.
• Qualified or currently pursuing an accounting qualification (ATI, ACCA, AAT or similar).
• Experience with outsourced accounts teams is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the outsourcing team, ensuring client accounts are managed accurately and on time.
• Act as the primary contact between clients and the outsourcing team, managing relationships and queries.
• Lead onboarding of new clients to ensure smooth transitions.
• Take responsibility for bookkeeping operations, workflow management and client billing.
• Prepare and review annual financial statements and management accounts to high standards.

Your Responsibilities

• You will be overseeing the outsourcing team, ensuring client accounts are managed accurately and in accordance with relevant standards and deadlines.
• Act as the primary point of contact between clients and the outsourcing team, delivering a high-quality service, managing client relationships, resolving queries, and ensuring the team has all the information required to meet client needs.
• Lead the onboarding of new clients, managing the transition process to ensure a smooth and efficient implementation.
• Take responsibility for bookkeeping operations, workflow management, and client billing processes, ensuring work is completed efficiently and on time.
• Prepare and review annual financial statements and management accounts to a consistently high standard, providing accurate and insightful financial information.

Your Qualifications & Experience

• You should have several years of experience working in an small-medium sized accounting firm, in a similar role.
• Strong hands-on experience and knowledge in bookkeeping and accounts preparation
• Proficient in the use of Xero, BrightBooks and other accounting software
• Qualified or currently working towards an accounting qualification (ATI, ACCA, AAT (or similar))
• Experience working with an outsourced accounts team is preferred but not essential
