About the Opportunity
Our client, a leading consultancy, is mobilising a global Oracle EPM Cloud implementation and is assembling a senior team of module leads to deliver it. This is a chance to own the Planning and Budgeting (PBCS / EPBCS) design for a complex, enterprise-scale programme and to set the standard for how the module is delivered.
The Role
You will work alongside the Oracle EPM Solution Architect, other module leads, finance process owners and programme leadership. You will bring deep, specialist Oracle Planning expertise and the credibility to guide senior finance and FP&A stakeholders through design decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture and Solution Design
- Define the target-state architecture and solution design for Oracle Planning across a global group
- Design planning, budgeting and forecasting models, including driver-based planning, dimensionality, cube design and data flows
- Design business rules, calculation logic, forms, dashboards and workflows, applying Groovy and other advanced techniques where appropriate
- Define data integration approaches with ERP and source systems and alignment with FCCS and EDMCS
Business Requirements and Platform Alignment
- Align business and finance requirements with Oracle Planning capabilities, advising on fit, trade-offs and roadmap
- Run design workshops with FP&A, business finance and operational planning stakeholders
- Translate planning, forecasting and reporting needs into scalable, performant designs
Design Governance, Standards and Best Practice
- Lead design governance for the Planning workstream, including design authority participation and sign-off
- Establish build standards, performance and testing approaches, and release controls
- Embed Oracle and industry best practice, and ensure consistency with the wider EPM architecture
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical leadership across delivery teams, reviewing designs and builds and resolving complex issues
- Mentor and coach consultants and developers
- Support planning, estimation, risk management and delivery reporting for the workstream
Skills and Experience
- 10+ years in finance systems or EPM, with experience predominantly focused on Oracle PBCS / EPBCS (and prior Hyperion Planning or Essbase where relevant)
- Experience leading the design and delivery of multiple complex, multi-entity Planning implementations
- Deep knowledge of Oracle Planning functionality, including Essbase cube design, business rules, forms, data integration and security
- Strong grounding in planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting processes
- Experience integrating Planning with multiple ERP and source systems
- Proven track record providing technical leadership and design governance on large programmes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at senior finance level
- Oracle Planning certification
- Experience with Groovy scripting and Oracle Planning modules (Financials, Workforce, Capital, Projects)
- Experience in a consultancy, Big 4 or system integrator environment
- Professional finance qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Who You Are
- A recognised Oracle Planning specialist who is comfortable leading and being hands-on
- Calm and structured when navigating complexity and competing priorities
- A natural leader who raises the standard of the people around you
- Commercially aware, focused on delivering value rather than only designs
Location and Working Pattern
This role is open to candidates based in Ireland or Western Europe. Working will be hybrid, and you should be willing to travel as the programme requires.
What's on Offer
- A leadership role on a flagship, global Oracle EPM programme
- Flexible hybrid working
- Long-term career progression within a global consultancy network
