Job summary

Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny is seeking a Night Porter to join our front office team. You will support overnight guest services, maintain security, and assist with early-morning operations.

The ideal candidate will have good English, the ability to work independently, and a professional approach to guest care.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotels or hospitality is preferred.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Basic security awareness and ability to follow procedures.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services, and opening hours.
• Provide excellent guest service and address enquiries and complaints.
• Complete daily reports and handovers between shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of public areas during overnight hours.
• Assist with meeting room and conference setups as required.
• Conduct regular security walks and monitor access points overnight.
• Follow health and safety, fire safety, and lost property procedures.
• Support other departments and complete mandatory training.

Role/ Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services, restaurant operations, room types, and opening hours.

• Provide excellent guest service, assist with enquiries, handle complaints, and ensure guest satisfaction.

• Complete daily reports, record maintenance issues, and provide clear handovers between shifts.

• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of public areas, including the lobby, corridors, toilets, restaurant, and other shared spaces.

• Assist with meeting room and conference set-ups, ensuring tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment, and other required items are arranged according to event specifications.

• Conduct regular security walks to ensure the hotel remains secure overnight, monitor access points, and keep fire exits and escape routes clear.

• Follow hotel health and safety, fire safety, food hygiene, and lost property procedures.

• Assist other departments when required, maintain professional grooming standards, and complete all required training.

About the role

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, cleaning, or customer service role.

• Physical fitness – able to stand for long periods and carry out cleaning or lifting when required

• Ability to work independently – confident in handling duties during quieter night hours.

• Basic knowledge of fire safety and emergency procedures.

• Good written and spoken English.

• Good teamwork and communication skills

• Flexibility to working hours, including weekends and holiday periods.
