Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a capable Business Development Manager for a well-established steel distributor in Munster, covering Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Kerry. You will manage and grow key accounts, develop new business across construction, engineering, steel, builder merchants, precast and agricultural sectors, and oversee full sales cycles while building long-term client relationships.

The role offers hybrid working: three days in the field and two from home, with a salary of

Qualifications

• At least three years’ experience in Business Development or a similar sales role within construction, engineering, steel or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of the Irish construction and engineering market, with an established network in the sector.
• A proven track record in winning new business, managing sales pipelines and achieving targets.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Full clean driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout Munster.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow customer relationships across Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Kerry.
• Develop new business and manage existing accounts across construction, engineering, steel, builder merchants, precast and agricultural sectors.
• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, including Procurement Managers, Buyers, Managing Directors, Quantity Surveyors and Production Managers.
• Manage the full sales cycle, from initial engagement and quoting through to negotiation and order completion.
• Develop account plans and a strong sales pipeline across the territory.
