Job summary

Bretland is seeking an experienced construction site manager to lead site staff and subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and drive the project program in the Midlands. You will review designs, coordinate with the design team, and monitor costs to exceed targets while maintaining quality.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering/construction qualification with 5–7 years in a similar role, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills. Procore experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Engineering or construction qualification required.
• 5-7 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
• Strong team leadership and mentoring ability.
• Strong time management and deadline adherence.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Solid understanding of building details and construction technology.
• Proficient IT skills; MS Word, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage site staff and subcontractors to ensure works progress as planned.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are implemented.
• Establish and monitor the construction programme.
• Review drawings and communicate errors to the design team.
• Coordinate information flow from design team and prepare schedules/RFI's.
• Ensure long lead-time materials/subcontract packages are coordinated.
• Work with contracts manager to meet project objectives and margins.
• Monitor quality of workmanship and materials.
• Maintain cost effectiveness and resource use.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specs and building regs.
• Lead project resources and motivate the team.
• Report progress weekly/monthly to management.
