Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to provide technical support, infrastructure management, and cloud solutions across client environments in Ireland. The role focuses on Microsoft technologies, networking, and cybersecurity with emphasis on end-user systems.

You will remotely and on-site support with the ability to manage incidents, migrate to Azure, deploy Azure services, and configure Defender, Intune, and firewalls.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Ideally 3+ years' experience in IT Support/Infrastructure MSP environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Windows Server administration.
• Experience with Windows desktop environments, networks, and critical IT infrastructure.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Intune, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Office 365.
• Experience configuring SonicWall firewalls, VPNs, and network infrastructure.
• Solid cybersecurity understanding, identity management, endpoint protection, and network security.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Fluent English and a full, clean Category B driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote and on-site support across multiple client environments.
• Manage service requests, incidents, and escalations to ensure timely resolution.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Windows Server.
• Plan migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
• Deploy and manage Azure services, including Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, and VPN connectivity.
• Implement and administer Microsoft Intune and endpoint management solutions.
• Configure and support Microsoft Defender and other security technologies.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot SonicWall firewalls, VPNs, and networking equipment.
• Diagnose network, connectivity, security, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Support SharePoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration platforms.
• Maintain the security, reliability, and performance of client IT environments.
• Provide technical guidance to clients and end users while maintaining excellent service standards.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to infrastructure, security, and support processes.
