Job summary

Stryker in Limerick is offering a cooperative placement for engineering students. You will perform testing on medical device products and components using automated, semi-automated and manual methods, and report results in written and verbal form.

You will work with a supportive team, mentors and university partners to deliver real-world testing projects while developing essential skills in inspection, verification and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled at an Irish or Northern Irish university for the duration of the cooperative placement.
  • Available for 6, 9 or 12 months – exact duration and start date discussed with Talent Acquisition Partner at Stryker.
  • Currently completing an Irish or Northern Irish university qualification in Engineering (Mechanical or Biomedical).
  • Very good visual acuity and fine motor skills; observe and correct minute inconsistencies.
  • Able to analyze and correct complex testing and/or systems issues using independent judgment.
  • Honesty and integrity; comply with quality system, regulations and company policies.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and hardworking; thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Team player in a multi-disciplined team.
  • Keen interest in all things Engineering and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Identify a process improvement project with objectives, scope, milestones and evaluation metrics.
  • Support R&D, Advanced Operations and Global Quality on development and verification testing.
  • Develop and coordinate inspection and testing procedures for prototypes, components and products.
  • Formulate test guidelines and procedures and revise specifications as needed.
  • Set up and perform experiments compliant with FDA requirements and engineering standards.
  • Extract and process test data into written and verbal reports.
  • Assist in designing, installing and maintaining test sampling systems and fixtures.
  • Maintain test laboratory housekeeping and coordinate with facilities on equipment maintenance.
