Search Talent is partnering with an established engineering and construction business to appoint an experienced M&E Project Manager for a major Cork project. This senior delivery role offers autonomy across programme, commercial management and client relationships.

You will lead multi-disciplinary teams from mobilisation through handover on technically complex projects, with strong emphasis on safety, quality and value creation for long-term clients in Munster.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10+ years' relevant project experience.

Responsibilities

M&E Project Manager – Cork

Search Talent is partnering with an established engineering and construction business to appoint an experienced M&E Project Manager for a major project in Cork.

This is a senior delivery position offering significant autonomy and responsibility across project performance, commercial management, programme, site teams and client relationships.

The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from mobilisation through delivery, commissioning and handover, working with experienced engineering, commercial and site teams.

For an established Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager looking for their next move, this offers the opportunity to join a business with a strong pipeline of technically complex projects in Cork and across Munster, without the requirement to relocate or spend extended periods travelling.

The Role

You will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned M&E projects, ensuring programme, commercial, quality and safety objectives are achieved.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Taking overall ownership of M&E project delivery from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
• Managing project programmes, key milestones and delivery schedules.
• Leading project engineers, supervisors, site teams, specialist subcontractors and labour resources.
• Maintaining oversight of project budgets, costs, forecasts, variations and overall commercial performance.
• Working closely with Quantity Surveying and commercial teams on valuations, reporting and cost control.
• Coordinating procurement, subcontractors and specialist suppliers to ensure programme requirements are achieved.
• Managing QA, commissioning and handover requirements.
• Ensuring the highest standards of health & safety are maintained throughout project delivery.
• Acting as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants and other key project stakeholders.
• Chairing and participating in project progress and coordination meetings.
• Identifying project risks early and implementing practical solutions to maintain programme and commercial performance.
• Supporting tender reviews, project negotiations and the development of new and repeat business.
• Building strong long-term relationships with clients and project partners.
• Managing multiple workstreams or projects where required.

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Mechanical, Electrical, M&E or Building Services Project Managers who have delivered technically demanding projects within sectors such as:

Pharmaceutical | Life Sciences | Healthcare | Industrial | Advanced Manufacturing | Commercial

You will ideally have:

• Approximately 10+ years' relevant project experience, including significant responsibility for project delivery.
• A Mechanical or Electrical engineering, trade or building services background.
• Strong experience managing M&E projects in a contracting environment.
• Demonstrable responsibility for programme, budget, site resources and project performance.
• Experience managing subcontractors, engineering teams and site labour.
• Strong commercial awareness, including exposure to valuations, variations, forecasting and project reporting.
• Experience dealing directly with clients, consultants and senior project stakeholders.
• A good understanding of QA, commissioning and project handover.
• Excellent leadership, planning and communication skills.
• The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of project outcomes.
• Revit/BIM exposure would be advantageous but is not essential.
