Job summary

White-Recruitment presents an Electrical Project Engineer role in Dublin, delivering complex M&E projects across data centres, pharma, healthcare and commercial sectors. You will bridge design, procurement and construction, coordinating electrical packages to meet project specs and standards.

You'll work with project managers, site teams, consultants and suppliers, driving technical information from design through commissioning and handover, with clear progression toward project management.

Qualifications

  • Level 7/8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Services Engineering or similar.
  • 3+ years' experience within an M&E contractor or similar environment.
  • Experience on large commercial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects.
  • Good understanding of current Irish electrical standards.
  • Knowledge of BCAR, LEED or BREEAM requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake detailed reviews of electrical drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications, relevant standards and QA requirements.
  • Review IFC and design documentation to establish the complete electrical scope.
  • Develop alternative engineering solutions where required.
  • Produce technical calculations, sketches and supporting documentation for client approval.
  • Raise and manage RFIs with consultants and client design teams.
  • Review coordinated construction drawings and identify potential clashes or technical issues.
  • Prepare, submit and monitor technical submittals.
  • Review specialist subcontractor and supplier packages for technical compliance.
  • Coordinate with BIM and digital construction teams.
  • Work closely with procurement teams to develop and monitor procurement schedules.
  • Ensure long-lead electrical equipment is identified and ordered in line with programme requirements.
  • Support site teams with technical queries throughout construction.
  • Monitor quality requirements and ensure installations meet agreed project benchmarks.
  • Coordinate with quality teams regarding BCAR inspection requirements.
  • Support LEED and BREEAM requirements where applicable.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning and project handover.

Electrical Project Engineer

We are currently partnering with a leading M&E and building services contractor to recruit an ambitious Electrical Project Engineer to join their expanding Dublin projects team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer looking to develop their career within a major contractor, working on technically complex projects across the data centre, pharmaceutical, healthcare and commercial sectors.

You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, taking responsibility for technical design reviews, coordination, procurement, compliance and construction support, with a clear pathway towards Project Management.

Our client is a well-established mechanical and electrical engineering contractor delivering major projects across Ireland.

The Role

As Electrical Project Engineer, you'll provide the technical link between design, procurement and construction, ensuring electrical packages are coordinated correctly and delivered in accordance with project specifications.

Working alongside Project Managers, site teams, consultants, specialist subcontractors and suppliers, you'll take ownership of technical information and help drive projects from design development through construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

The Candidate

We're looking for an ambitious Electrical Engineer with a strong technical foundation and experience within construction or building services.

  • Level 7/8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Services Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience within electrical building services or contracting
  • Good understanding of electrical design and installation
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of current Irish electrical standards
  • Knowledge of fire alarm and emergency lighting standards
  • Strong IT and technical software skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal ability
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • 3+ years' experience within an M&E contractor or similar environment
  • Experience on large commercial, pharmaceutical or data centre projects
  • Experience with BIM and digital construction platforms
  • Knowledge of BCAR, LEED or BREEAM requirements
  • Previous involvement in testing and commissioning
