Job summary

White-Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Project Manager to lead major M&E packages in Dublin from pre-construction through commissioning and handover. You will coordinate clients, design teams, main contractors and suppliers, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery across data centres, pharma, commercial, and industrial sectors.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical contracting with strong technical knowledge of HVAC, piping, ventilation, and plant.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in M&E or mechanical contracting environment.
  • Proven experience delivering mechanical building services projects.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover.
  • Coordinate planning, construction, testing and commissioning.
  • Lead site-based mechanical teams and coordinate contractors.
  • Ensure safety, programme adherence and budget control.
  • Review designs, drawings and specifications for compliance.
  • Coordinate mechanical services with other disciplines.
  • Attend client, design and progress meetings.
  • Oversee testing, snagging and handover to client.

Mechanical Project Manager

We are currently partnering with a leading M&E and building services contractor to recruit an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their expanding Dublin operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Project Manager to take ownership of major mechanical packages from pre-construction through installation, commissioning and final handover, working on technically complex projects across sectors including data centres, pharmaceutical, commercial and industrial developments.

With continued growth and a strong forward order book, they are looking to strengthen their project delivery team with an experienced Mechanical Project Manager.

The Role

Reporting into senior operations management, you will take responsibility for the complete delivery of mechanical building services projects, from initial planning and pre-construction through to testing, commissioning and handover.

You'll act as a key point of contact between the client, design team, main contractor, subcontractors and suppliers while taking ownership of programme, quality, commercial performance and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage mechanical projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover
  • Coordinate all phases of the project lifecycle including planning, construction, testing and commissioning
  • Manage relationships with clients, consultants, main contractors, suppliers and subcontractors
  • Lead and coordinate site-based mechanical teams
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget
  • Review mechanical designs, specifications and construction drawings
  • Coordinate mechanical services with other building services disciplines
  • Monitor site progress and proactively resolve technical or programme issues
  • Manage procurement requirements and ensure materials and equipment are available in line with programme
  • Monitor project costs and support ongoing commercial management
  • Manage variations and change control procedures
  • Attend client, design, progress and coordination meetings
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications, drawings and relevant industry standards
  • Oversee testing and commissioning activities
  • Manage snagging, completion and final client handover
  • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety and quality throughout project delivery
The Candidate
  • We are looking for an experienced mechanical building services professional with a strong background in M&E contracting and major project delivery.
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience within an M&E or mechanical contracting environment
  • Proven experience managing mechanical building services projects
  • Strong technical understanding of:
  • HVAC systems
  • Heating and chilled water
  • Pipework
  • Ventilation
  • Plumbing and public health
  • Mechanical plant
  • Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
  • Strong understanding of project programmes, procurement and commercial performance
  • Excellent leadership and people-management skills
  • Strong client-facing and stakeholder management capability
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong IT and technical capability
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or similar
  • Experience delivering projects within data centres, pharmaceutical, life sciences or mission-critical environments
  • Experience working on large-value mechanical packages
  • Strong understanding of commissioning and project handover
