Job summary

CPL Healthcare is partnering with a leading FMCG organisation in South Dublin to hire an experienced Logistics Planner for an initial 6-month contract. The role coordinates inbound/outbound movements, optimises distribution activities, and strengthens collaboration between production, warehousing, transport providers, and customer service teams.

You will drive efficiency, cut costs, and maintain high service levels in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in logistics, distribution, or supply chain planning in FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics best practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements in logistics.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced IT skills with SAP, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel, including macros.
  • Results-driven with focus on customer service and continuous improvement.
  • Valid EU work authorisation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound distribution activities.
  • Liaise with production planners and customer service to optimise loading schedules and service levels.
  • Act as key contact between warehousing, 3PLs, and transport carriers.
  • Provide accurate information on product availability and order fulfilment.
  • Maintain distribution records and monitor shipments for timely delivery.
  • Optimise shipment planning to reduce freight costs and improve transport efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce obsolescence and waste through planning.
  • Coordinate with logistics providers to manage order processing and delivery needs.
  • Investigate and resolve delivery and distribution issues promptly.
  • Review logistics processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining performance.
  • Assist with transport risk assessments and health & safety compliance.
  • Support logistics administration like claims, cost verification, and documentation control.

The successful candidate will play a key role in improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining high service levels in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate all inbound and outbound distribution activities.
  • Liaise with production planners and customer service teams to optimise loading schedules and improve service levels.
  • Act as the key point of contact between warehousing operations, third-party logistics providers, and transport carriers.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information on product availability and order fulfilment status.
  • Maintain distribution records and monitor pending shipments to ensure timely delivery.
  • Optimise shipment planning to reduce freight costs and maximise transport efficiencies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce product obsolescence and waste through effective planning.
  • Coordinate with logistics service providers to manage order processing, loading schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve delivery and distribution issues in a timely manner.
  • Review existing logistics processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining operational performance.
  • Assist with transportation risk assessments and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Support general logistics administration, including claims management, cost verification, and documentation control.
Requirements
  • Third-level qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in a logistics, distribution, or supply chain planning role, ideally within an FMCG environment.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics best practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a logistics environment.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and coordination skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
