Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment is seeking a Production Planner for a leading global manufacturing organisation in Sligo. The role focuses on end-to-end production planning and scheduling to meet customer requirements and optimise capacity.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will balance demand with capacity, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across functions to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
  • Balance customer demand with capacity, materials and resources.
  • Monitor production performance, schedule adherence and production losses.
  • Support DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) performance.
  • Proactively manage material shortages, labour constraints, downtime and disruptions.
  • Coordinate raw material and shipment requirements to optimise inventory and JIT flow.
  • Work cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Engineering and Customer Service.
  • Support new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate planning records, reports and documentation.
  • Act as a key contact for production planning and scheduling across the site.

SLIGO

An exciting opportunity has come up witha leading global manufacturing organisation to recruit an experiencedProduction Plannerfor their facility inSligo.
This is an excellent opportunity for a production or supply chain professional to join a high-performing manufacturing environment, playing a key role in balancing customer demand, manufacturing capacity and operational requirements.
The Role
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner will manage the end-to-end production planning and scheduling process, ensuring schedules are achievable, efficient and aligned with customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing daily, weekly and monthly production schedules.
  • Balancing customer demand with capacity, materials and resources.
  • Monitoring production performance, schedule adherence and production losses.
  • Supporting DIFOT (Delivery in Full, On Time) performance.
  • Proactively managing material shortages, labour constraints, downtime and operational disruptions.
  • Coordinating raw material and shipment requirements to optimise inventory and Just-In-Time material flow.
  • Working cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Procurement, Warehousing, Logistics, Engineering and Customer Service.
  • Supporting new product integration and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining accurate planning records, reports and documentation.
  • Acting as a key contact for production planning and scheduling across the site.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ideally, you will have experience with:
