Job summary

JFC Group is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to manage day-to-day transport and logistics coordination, ensuring timely deliveries and smooth production flow. You will support the dispatch department and maintain accurate records using the company ERP system, while liaising with transport providers and internal teams.

The role requires at least 3 years in logistics/dispatch, experience in manufacturing or construction, and a third-level qualification in Supply Chain/Logistics.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years in logistics, dispatch, or transport operations.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Third-level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related discipline.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations, quality standards, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, with ERP experience.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transport and logistics activities across divisions for domestic and export markets.
  • Coordinate dispatch schedules with warehouse and production teams to meet on-time shipping.
  • Liaise with internal departments, customers, and transport providers on orders, load planning, and delivery timelines.
  • Prepare picking lists and coordinate with dispatch team for orders and dispatches.
  • Maintain transport, shipping documentation for hauliers and export shipments.
  • Monitor deliveries and resolve transport or scheduling issues to minimise disruption.
  • Plan routes, monitor performance, and suggest improvements to reduce costs and improve service.
  • Maintain accurate logistics records using ERP and business systems.
  • Work with warehouse teams to ensure product availability for dispatch and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with transport policies, procedures and regulations on site.

Job description

This role will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of transport and logistics activities while providing administrative support to the dispatch dept. The Logistics Coordinator will ensure the efficient movement of materials and finished products, helping to ensure deliveries are made on time, production runs smoothly, and logistics operations are carried out in a cost-effective and reliable manner.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
  • Coordinate transport and logistics activities across all JFC divisions for domestic and export markets.
  • Coordinate dispatch schedules with the warehouse and production teams to ensure customer orders are shipped on time.
  • Liaise with internal departments, customers, transport providers, and subcontractors regarding order enquiries, load planning, scheduling, and delivery timelines.
  • Prepare and issue picking lists for customer orders, collections, and dispatches and coordinate with the dispatch team
  • Organise and maintain all transport and shipping documentation for hauliers, subcontractors, customer collections, and export shipments.
  • Monitor deliveries and proactively resolve transport, scheduling, or customer service issues to minimise disruption.
  • Plan transport routes, monitor transport performance, and recommend improvements to maximise efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Maintain accurate logistics, transport, and shipment records using the company’s ERP and business systems.
  • Work closely with warehouse teams to ensure products are available for dispatch and customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Ensure all employees, contractors, and transport providers comply with company transport policies and procedures while on site.
  • Ensure transport operations and the movement of products to and from site comply with all company security standards and relevant transport regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline logistics processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment by adhering to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by the Transport and Logistics Manager
Desired Skills And Experience
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a logistics, dispatch, or transport operations role is essential.
  • Experience within a manufacturing or construction environment is essential.
  • A third-level qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Knowledge of transport regulations, quality standards, statutory requirements, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with experience using ERP systems (e.g. Navision) and transport management/routing systems.
  • Strong customer service experience with excellent communication skills and a strong command of the English language, both verbal and written, is essential.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Familiarity with transport licensing and permit requirements.
  • Experience working with customers, drivers, contractors, and third-party transport providers.
  • An understanding of logistics and supply chain operations within manufacturing, construction, mining, or process industries would be an advantage.
  • A valid forklift licence is desirable; teleporter certification would be an advantage (if applicable).
