Job summary

Wexford Bus in Wexford, IE, is seeking a Duty Supervisor – Operations to join our on-site team. You will monitor live services, coordinate drivers and fleet, handle incidents and implement service recovery plans to restore normal operation quickly and safely.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and a track record of reliable team leadership. This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Drinagh office.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Strong customer-service focus and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to use scheduling, tracking and communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor live location and performance of services using GPS tracking and scheduling systems.
• Identify and respond to delays, breakdowns, accidents, road closures and other operational issues.
• Implement service recovery plans, including adjusting services and deploying drivers or vehicles.
• Manage daily driver duties, staff absences, operational cover, fleet allocations and other resources.
• Maintain communication with drivers, Customer Service, the technical team and other departments.
• Provide guidance and support to drivers during daily operations and disruptions.
• Ensure vehicle availability meets operational requirements with the technical team.
• Maintain records of incidents, delays, decisions and actions taken, escalate as needed.
• Liaise with emergency services and local authorities when required.
• Complete assigned administrative responsibilities and lead specific business functions.
• Support attendance, conduct and performance management of staff.
