Job summary

Bus Éireann in Waterford is seeking a practical, hands-on operations assistant to maintain onboard systems across our fleet. You will check ticket machines, location tracking, CCTV, WiFi and other equipment, performing health checks and simple repairs to keep buses running on time.

You will work with depot staff, IT, Maintenance and suppliers to resolve issues, log incidents in ServiceNow, and ensure spare stock is managed.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical support or transport operations.
• Qualification in electrical or mechanical area is advantageous.
• Full, clean Category B driving licence and willingness to travel between depots.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for depot staff reporting onboard equipment issues.
• Carry out basic checks and troubleshooting, update settings, and test equipment.
• Log issues in ServiceNow and escalate when needed.
• Replace faulty equipment or SIM cards and maintain records.
• Test new software updates on onboard devices.
