Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst/Lead for a major investment banking client. You will lead a team of 4–8 Systems Analysts, translating strategic objectives into actionable plans (epics and user stories) with clear business value.

You will work closely with development teams to deliver high-quality technology solutions, partnering with portfolio engineers, investment architects and operations to understand priorities and deliver value.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in business analysis, systems analysis, product ownership and/or product management.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining large, complex products or solutions.
• Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, especially investment/wealth management.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing high-performing analysts.
• Excellent communication, presentation, planning and executive engagement skills.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of 4–8 Systems Analysts with regular one-to-ones and talent development planning.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans, epics and user stories with clear business value.
• Collaborate with development teams to transform business needs into high-quality tech solutions.
• Partner with portfolio engineers, investment architects and operations teams to align vision and priorities.
• Define end-to-end workflows reflecting the underlying business purpose.
• Lead planning and estimation sessions for large initiatives, communicating demands, schedules and risks.
• Identify and remove impediments while focusing on execution, quality and continuous improvement.
• Influence colleagues across the organization on solutions, tools and ways of working in a matrixed environment.
• Support talent planning, resource allocation and skills acquisition across the organization.

• Identify and remove delivery impediments while maintaining a strong focus on execution, quality and continuous improvement.
• Influence colleagues across the organisation on solutions, tools and ways of working, often within a matrixed environment and without direct authority.
• Support talent planning, resource allocation and the acquisition of skills needed across the wider organisation.

What Skills You Need In This Job

• At least 7 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, product ownership and/or product management.
• Proven experience designing, developing and maintaining large, complex and dynamic products or solutions.
• Strong knowledge of the financial services industry, with experience in investment management or wealth management. Financial optimiser experience is a plus.
• Experience leading, coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing Systems Analysts.
• Strong communication, presentation, organisation, and planning skills, including the ability to engage effectively with executives.
• Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
• Experience with Agile delivery methods and Jira, preferably from a planning perspective.

• €70,000 - €76,000 Salary with 20% Bonus
• Hybrid working environment that is remote the majority of the month with one full week on-site per month
