Job summary

West Galway in Ireland seeks a Retail Baker to lead a high-volume bakery in a progressive supermarket setting. The role requires 5–6 years in a busy bakery, with strong bread production and scratch baking skills, plus experience in managing a bakery team and day-to-day operations.

You will drive daily bakery operations, plan production to meet demand, ensure freshness and quality, train staff, and maintain stock while minimising waste and controlling costs.

Qualifications

• 5–6 years of experience in a busy bakery.
• Experience managing a bakery team and day-to-day performance.
• Strong baking skills with knowledge of recipes and production planning.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Willingness to work early morning shifts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the bakery department.
• Produce high-quality breads and bakery products with consistency.
• Plan and manage bakery production to meet customer demand.
• Ensure products are baked fresh and presented to high standards.
• Train and support bakery staff to achieve performance goals.
• Manage workflow and delegate tasks for efficient operations.
• Maintain fully stocked displays to maximise sales.
• Monitor stock levels and minimise waste through planning.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle queries.
• Ensure HACCP, food safety, and health & safety compliance.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the bakery.
• Drive sales and look for opportunities to improve profitability.
