Job summary

Mastercard Inc. is seeking a Lead, Quality Engineer to spearhead a high-performing quality engineering team in a modern, microservices-driven payments environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive test automation, CI/CD adoption, and release management while ensuring scalable, user-centric solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion best practices, monitor quality KPIs, and stay current with QE trends.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software development.
• Proven experience in team building, and mentoring test engineers and working collaboratively as part of development teams.
• Strong understanding of Agile development, microservices architecture, and modern testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with: Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured; Performance & Resilience: JMeter; Quality & Monitoring: SonarQube; CI/CD: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end test automation strategy across the XBS platform, including NFRs like performance, scalability, reliability, security, and availability.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performing team culture and mentor engineers.
• Drive in-sprint testing, shift-left quality, and test automation.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage CI/CD pipelines and release management processes.
• Design and implement robust testing frameworks using Karate, Selenium, Playwright, Rest Assured, and AI-based testing tools.
• Monitor Quality KPIs (test coverage, defect leakage, MTTR, release readiness).
• Ensure performance and resilience through JMeter, chaos testing, and contract testing.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to deliver high-value user experiences.
• Promote TDD, BDD, and quality gates using SonarQube.
